Customisation
Like its Dura-Ace and Ultegra counterparts, Shimano 105 Di2 offers extensive customisation via the intuitive E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app. Using your smartphone, you can fine-tune drivetrain settings, adjusting shift speed, configuring multi-shift button functions, and enabling Synchronized or Semi-Synchronized shifting modes to suit your riding preferences.
Connectivity
You can also pair the system with third party cycling computers such as Garmin and Wahoo, which allow you to monitor gear selection or battery status.
Shifters/Levers
Shimano 105 dual control levers use Shimano’s proprietary wireless integrated circuit, engineered for secure communication, rapid signal processing, and minimal power consumption. Compared to other wireless systems, this results in reduced signal interference, quicker shift response, and extended battery life. Power is supplied by a single rechargeable battery housed inside the frame, simplifying charging and providing full protection from the elements, delivering consistent, dependable shifting in all conditions.
The new dual control levers also feature unparalleled ergonomics refined with pro rider feedback where a raised hood peak and new lever shape enhance comfort and control in every riding position. Braking is also optimized thanks to a lighter, smoother lever action and expanded braking control area.
Drivetrain
With the transition to a 12-speed cassette, the Shimano 105 R7100 Series provides a broader gear range and refined gear progression for smoother, more efficient cadence control. Optimised drivetrain configurations including 11-34T and 11-36T cassettes paired with 50-34T or 52-36T chainsets, offer low gearing ratios, including sub-1:1 options. This setup allows riders to tackle steeper gradients with confidence while maintaining a consistent cadence thanks to tighter gear steps across the range.
