Good but not great

Been a fan of specialised gloves for a number of years, the palm gel padding is second to none in design and solution for hand numbness. Perfect.... But it is apparent in recent years their high quality standards of material and manufacture is slipping. Certainly they are not poor but they are not as goods they once were and are below that of others in this price range. The material is wafer thin, not sure they'll last too long in the autum / spring.

Great Gloves

Great Spring/Autumn glove. Size is snug so make sure you measure twice! Lightweight and warm. Good padding and no loss of feel on the gears and brakes. Would buy again.

Cycling Gloves Guide

What are cycling gloves?

Cycling gloves are specially adapted to cosset your hands while riding. Cycling can put a lot of pressure on your palms, so dedicated bike gloves are very important.

Who needs cycling gloves?

Every rider will benefit from gloves. They aren’t just to keep your hands warm – they provide grip, protection and essential padding.

What are the choices?

Long fingered for winter, short fingered or mitts for summer. Off roaders might want long gloves, perhaps with armoured knuckles, all year round. There are gloves with minimal padding and seams, or mitts with gel cushioning to protect your nerves.

What should I buy with it?

More gloves! Most cyclists will need a long fingered pair of gloves in winter and mitts for summer.

Anything else?

About that little bit of terry fabric on the thumb – yes, it really is for wiping your snotty nose on as you ride. Because of this, you really need to be washing your gloves as often as you wash the rest of your kit.
