Great bike and great company

I bought the Bike to commute on. So far it's doing its job pefectly. I have to say after ordering from Tredz it was with me two days later. The pre build is a nice touch along with the free hex keys and bag.

Update.

I have had this bike for a few months now and am pleased to say with a few little tweaks such as a saddle change.I am more than happy to increase the star rating. For me this is a bike i would recommend.

Very good.

Having had this bike for a short time i am happy to say that so far all is fine.No little niggles have manifested themselves the bike behaves perfectly. The brakes are definitely keen!,and the gears precise as one would expect. The only comfort criticism for me is the saddle! that i will upgrade. The build quality is excellent. This bike will be even better when i change the saddle.

Faster but harsher

I made this purchase to replace a GT Aggressor MTB as I found most of my cycling was on country roads or towpaths and half of the time I’d generally a child or 2 along for the ride. Therefore I needed a bike capable of pulling a trailer, with quality brakes and could handle a range of road types. The Crosstrail ticked all my boxes with disc brakes, lockable front suspension and low resistant tyres plus I prefer the understated look. Once out of the box and spinning the wheels I noticed that the pads were catching on the rotors so adjustment was needed but both brakes still squeak horribly. Before my first outing I adjusted the seat post only for the cheap clamp to scrape a massive score into the black post. Whilst care was taken, a rogue ragged edge inside the tube must’ve been protruding out. I have since fitted a QR clamp. Care must also be taken with the matt finish, as it marks very easily so even after a few weeks it’s more weathered than it should be. Gear changes are slick, the range is gearing is good and the large tyres help to set a good pace on the road. The downsize to bigger wheels means it isn’t that comfortable but the front suspension helps a little, although there isn’t much travel in the fork, maybe this will come. I hoped that like my GT the front suspension would soak up the bumps to save my wrists but my wrists definitely take more of a battering now. By now I’ve covered a few hundred miles and realise for any sort of comfort the seat will need replaced. I won’t say I’m delighted with the purchase but I have to be realistic for the price I paid. With a few component changes and a good set up this bike should serve me well until the kids are up a few years, then I’ll be looking for something else.

Great Bike.

I bought an XL frame, which believe me is XL. So if your tall like then get fitted as you may not need an XL frame. I can get away with it as i'm 6.1". Overall the bike is light, handles well and disc brakes are very keen indeed. When delivered it was only a matter of straightening handlebars and getting the seat level just right. Overall am very pleased with the purchase and looking forward to a great summer in the saddle.
