Aerodynamic

Aerodynamics or lightweight alone won't win races, speed is what matters. Delivering that speed requires creating an uncompromising combination or aerodynamics, lightweight, stiffness and compliance. A streamlined approach to the front of the frame and headtube/fork area ensures clean airflow with no interruptions. Though complex simulations using real wold data Specialized Ride Science team knows the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest bike they have made. The SL8 is an impressive 16.6 seconds faster over a 40km distance than the previous SL7 model.

Lightweight

This new Tarmac frame is 685g making this the current lightest frame on the World Tour. The pro cyclists, amateur racers and those that want to ride fast all day long, look no further. With a lighter and more aerodynamic ride you will be able to ride more efficiently and save more energy, meaning more power and speed when you need it.

Ride Quality

Continuing their quest to develop the perfect race bike, Specialized have improved ride quality with the Tarmac SL8. Specialized have improved the stiffness to weight by 33% and improved smoother handling, comfort and responsiveness by 6%, making the ride feel pleasantly smooth. Every stamp on the pedals is rewarded with smooth speed, and ensures rapid acceleration especially when sprinting out of corners or kicking out the saddle.
