Useful way to tweak riding position.
by Anonymous user on 28/05/2020

Able to adjust riding position for my back problems. Simple to fit and adjust. Solidly built and smart design. Looks good on bike & has drawn comments and enquiries.

Easy to fit. Does what it says. Only drawback - all cables have to be replaced.

Solid kit, some guesswork needed to fit..
by John C on 25/05/2017

4 stars for performance as torque settings and dimensions were not given on website or the packaging.. So a bit of a risk to buy as the dimensions were not given for the bar end fitting size, or the depth of the steeper fitting. Fortunately the bar end was the same as mine (Giant Rapid 3) and one 5mm spacer made up the difference at the steerer end. Once fitted it's a solid piece of kit that does its job nicely.

Check the bolts
by Kim T on 22/05/2017

I had this for less then 3 weeks, noticed the angle bolt was getting loose on the way home then all of a sudden it went, I nearly went into the back of a car so be warned.

Width of the clamp?
by John F on 20/04/2017

I found that the width of the clamp to attach the stem to my headset was slightly smaller than my fixed angle System EX Stem, and meant that I needed to buy some differently sized spacers

Unpredictable outcomes
by John F on 20/04/2017

It is very difficult, from the item description ie the adjustment 'angles' and possible lengths of the stem (95 or 110mm) to equate the actual position of the handlebars relative to a simple fixed incline stem. The only way to know is to fit it on the bike and see.

Stems Guide

What are stems?

The stem is the component that attaches your handlebar to your fork steerer. It has a clamp at either end, at 90 degrees to each other.

Who needs a stem?

Stems rarely need to be changed due to damage, but you might decide on an upgrade to save weight or to change your reach on your bike.

What are the choices?

Although your choice will partly be based on getting the right clamp size for your handlebars, you will also need to decide what length stem you want. Longer stems will increase your reach, while a shorter stem will decrease it and can sharpen up your bike’s handling.

What should I buy with them?

Many people will choose to upgrade their handlebar along with their stem, for compatibility or to get a pleasing matching set.

Anything else?

It’s crucial that you check the clamps at both ends of your stem are compatible – you need one for the right size headset and the right handlebar width.
