Easy to Handle
Whether you're riding, storing, or moving it around, the HSD is a breeze to handle. It's shorter than a regular bike and its weight is the same as a regular ebike.
Automatic Shifting
The new Enviolo AUTOMATiQ system does all of the shifting for you, so you can worry less and bike more. All you need to do is pedal. It'll shift up as you accelerate from a standstill, and shift down when you reach a stoplight. Set your desired pedaling cadence on the integrated Bosch Intuvia controller and let Enviolo do the rest.
Flat Fold
Fifteen seconds and the HSD transforms into a flat package that's perfect for fitting into SUVs, station wagons, or bus storage compartments.
Ready to Haul
Despite its diminutive stature, the HSD is a mid-sized cargo bike with some serious hauling capacity. With a maximum gross vehicle weight of 170 kg (374 lb) and an XL-sized Atlas H Rack, it'll carry a week's worth of groceries or camping equipment for the weekend. It even has a dedicated trailer mount, so adding extra cargo is a cinch.
Vertical Parking
The HSD flips up for convenient vertical parking. Take it upstairs in an elevator and park it inside at home or at work—it needs just a wee bit of floor space.
A Comfier Ride
With a longer wheelbase and extra-low center of gravity, the HSD is smoother and more stable than your standard ebike. Easy-Step frame design paired with an adjustable stem and seatpost offers a comfortable upright riding position for both taller and shorter riders. Add a suspension fork and balloon tires and even the meanest cobblestone roads are comfortably navigated.

Tern Bikes Sizing Guide
Finding Your Perfect Fit
Most Tern bikes are designed in one size but are easily adjustable to fit riders of various heights. Whether you’re short, tall, or somewhere in between, Tern bikes are built to adapt and deliver a comfortable ride.
Adjustable Features
Tern bikes often come with the following adjustable components:
- Telescopic Seatpost: Easily adjust the saddle height using quick-release levers.
- Andros Stem: Modify handlebar height, angle, and orientation without tools.
- Speedlifter Stem: Quickly adjust handlebar height for added comfort.
These adjustments make it simple to share your bike with others or customise your riding position.
How to Adjust Your Bike
Telescopic Seatpost
- Adjusting Saddle Height:
- Use the quick-release levers to extend or shorten the seatpost to your preferred height.
- Ensure the seatpost stays within the minimum insertion range for safety (check the printed indicator on the post).
- Finding the Right Height:
- Sit on the bike and place your foot on the pedal in the 6 o’clock position.
- Your leg should be slightly bent (80-90% of full extension).
- Adjust until you find this position to ensure comfortable and efficient pedalling.
- Tip: Remember the numbered height indicator on the seatpost for quick setup later.
Handlebar Adjustments
- Andros Stem:
- Use the quick-release levers to adjust handlebar height, angle, and orientation.
- For road riding, position the handlebars forward; for comfort, angle them up toward you.
- Speedlifter Stem:
- Open the quick-release lever to adjust handlebar height.
- Check that the quick release is firmly secured before riding to avoid risks.
Additional Adjustments
- Saddle Position: Move the saddle forward/backward and adjust the tilt for improved comfort.
- Handlebar Height Tips: Angling the handlebars slightly forward or back changes the feel of the steering, and swapping to a longer handlepost can provide more height if needed.
