Highly satisfied with quality & value of this item. Lower bars enable me to attach side pannier bags without restricting my top bag.

Lightweight but still sturdy
by Christopher A on 05/05/2020

The frame is very light and has been compatible with three different panier bags, so far. It is still strong enough not to warp with a weeks worth of camping stuff in it. The attachment is easy enough although, there is a double allen-key bit that can be fiddley in a hurry. The only drawback that I would note is that, the top is open so, there is no protection from spray/mud unless you also fit a mudguard (or strap something over the top when loading!). Have been very happy with it and used it several times on our Urban 10 bike.

Not so good
by Anonymous user on 20/01/2020

In theory, this was just the sort of rack I was looking for, reasonably light, solid enough for touring, and suitable for disk brakes. In practice the support legs were pushed well wide of the frame which would cause quite a stress on the long fixing bolts and the frame mounting points. Worst of all was the size and shape of the spacers which held the support legs away from the frame. (These are a fixed part of the pannier rack and not loose spacers) they were square section and quite bulky to the extent there was no way they would fit on the the available space on my bike Loose round spacers in a variety of thicknesses could have worked much better. Unfortunately I unpacked the rack before I found out that it wouldn't fit my bike ( I suspect it wouldn't fit many others) so I guess it will appear soon at some well known auction site.

Already broken after using twice
by Valerie K on 26/08/2017

The bolts that come with this to attach to the frame are crap. This rack has already come loose from my frame after using it twice. Would not recommend this product.

this is a well made, light, and easy to fit product, that clears the rear brake disc.

Light but solid
by Craig B on 22/06/2017

This is my first experience with fitting and using a rack on my bike so can't say that I have a wealth experience to back my opinion here. However, I'd like to think that I can recognise a well made product and so far my experience with this rack has been just that. Very light to handle, making it very simple to fit. All the required fittings were supplied and the instructions for fitting were straightforward (although not an inherently complex piece of equipment to begin with). Once fitted and all bolts secured, it feels very robust and unlikely to move or flex out of place. No issues securing my panniers onto either side and I am able to place them far enough towards the rear of the mount to prevent any interference with the pedal stroke (for reference, this was fitted to a Carrera Subway One 2014 edition).

Very Impressed
by Keith E on 12/01/2017

Remarkably light for a robust rack. It was easy to fit to a bike with disc brakes and the extra side bar makes it easier to hook on the pannier bag. Even the Allen key bolts have knurled heads so you can do them up most of the way with your fingers - impressive attention to detail!

Bike Racks Guide

What is a bike rack?

A bike rack is a great way of carrying your luggage around on your bike, making them perfect for commuting, touring or family adventures. The rack fits securely to your bike, eliminating the need for a rucksack to burden your back. Racks are easily fitted and removed, so they don’t have to stay in place all the time.

Who needs a bike rack?

Anyone who carries luggage. Whether you’re cycling to work, sightseeing or having a few days away, bike racks are ideal for bearing the brunt of the load. A bike rack is also a great idea for those who suffer from back pain or that find rucksacks uncomfortable.

What are the choices?

There are two locations for bike racks, at the front and rear of your bike. Both can be used to carry luggage. Choose from strong, durable material that is as light as possible. You’ll also need to check that the rack will fit to your bike without getting in the way of any of the components.

What should I buy with it?

The choice of accompanying baggage is endless. Pick from a small, compact bag for occasional jaunts, double panniers for a weekend away or multi-compartment bag to keep yourself organised.

Anything else?

Check the load capacity of your rack – you don’t want to set off and leave a trail of spilt luggage in your wake. Or worse, damage your bike because you’ve packed everything AND the kitchen sink.

See our Luggage guide for more.
