The Trek Checkpoint ALR 4 is an ideal gateway into the world of gravel, built for riders who want a bike that’s ready for commuting, bikepacking and weekend escapes. At its core is a 300 Series Alpha Aluminium frame, tuned for responsive handling with a stable stance, giving you the confidence to tackle loose corners or fast road descents.
With hidden cable routing, rack and mudguard mounts, and integrated frame bag mounts, it’s built for versatility and ready to be loaded up for bigger trips. There's room for tyres up to 45 mm wide, so you can swap in chunkier rubber for rougher terrain or stick with the fitted Bontrager GR1 Team Issue 700x40 mm tyres for a fast-rolling, puncture-resistant ride with plenty of grip on hardpack and light gravel.
The drivetrain is a 1x11 SRAM Apex set-up, using a 40T chainring paired with an 11–42T cassette, offering a wide range of gears for steep climbs without the complexity of a front mech. Tektro C550 mechanical disc brakes provide reliable stopping power with minimal maintenance, and the Bontrager Paradigm wheels are tubeless-ready to reduce flats and improve comfort when set up with lower pressures.
Finished with a carbon fork for added comfort and lighter weight up front, the Checkpoint ALR 4 keeps things responsive and adaptable, whether you’re heading out for a quick loop or a day-long journey on mixed terrain.
If you’re looking for a reliable gravel bike with modern features and the flexibility to customise as you go, the Checkpoint ALR 4 delivers excellent value and plenty of adventure potential.
