The Trek Marlin 7 Gen 3 is designed for riders looking to take their first steps into proper trail riding while still offering plenty of scope for progression. At the heart of the bike is a lightweight Alpha Silver aluminium frame with modern trail geometry. It features internal cable routing for a clean look and protection, as well as rack and kickstand mounts for everyday versatility.
Up front, the RockShox Judy Silver suspension fork delivers 100mm of controlled travel, helping absorb bumps and roots while maintaining steering precision. With an air spring, rebound adjustment and hydraulic lockout, it can be tuned to suit the rider’s weight and terrain, adding confidence on technical trails.
The SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed rear derailleur, paired with an SX Eagle shifter, provides smooth, reliable shifting across a wide-range 11-50T cassette. This 1x12 setup keeps gearing simple while offering plenty of range for climbing and fast-paced sections alike. Braking power comes from Shimano MT200 hydraulic discs, giving controlled stopping in all conditions.
Bontrager Kovee tubeless-ready wheels are fitted with Maxxis Rekon 29x2.40” tyres, combining fast rolling speed with grip for mixed trail conditions. The wheels can easily be set up tubeless for lower pressures, better traction and fewer punctures. A TranzX internally routed dropper post is included as standard, helping riders lower the saddle quickly for descents.
Comfort and control are supported by Bontrager finishing kit, including a short stem and wide alloy bar for stability, and a Bontrager Verse Short saddle designed for efficiency and comfort. Weighing just over 14kg, the Marlin 7 strikes a fine balance between agility and durability.
For riders looking for a confidence-inspiring mountain bike that’s capable of developing skills on trails, the Trek Marlin 7 Gen 3 is a great choice, with its suspension fork, wide gearing and trail-ready features making it a solid step into off-road adventure.
