The Trek Procaliber 9.7 Gen 3 is built for riders chasing maximum speed without compromising confidence on modern cross-country trails. Whether you're lining up for an XC race, tackling a marathon event or riding fast technical singletrack, it combines lightweight carbon construction with race-proven components to deliver efficient climbing, confident descending and responsive handling.
At the heart of the bike is Trek's OCLV Mountain Carbon frame, engineered specifically for the demands of cross-country mountain biking. The updated geometry features a slacker head angle and longer 120mm fork travel than traditional XC hardtails, creating a more composed ride on steep descents and technical terrain while retaining the quick handling and efficiency expected from a race bike.
A defining feature is Trek's innovative IsoBow frame technology. By extending the seat stays beyond the seat tube, the frame gains controlled vertical compliance that helps absorb trail vibration while also reducing overall frame weight. This added comfort helps reduce rider fatigue over long races and rough trails without sacrificing pedalling efficiency. Trek's balanced post mount brake design further enhances compliance by allowing the seat stays to flex independently of the brake mount, maintaining consistent braking performance while smoothing trail chatter.
The frame also features guided internal cable routing for a clean appearance, Boost 148 rear spacing for increased wheel stiffness, a Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) for easy replacement, and integrated rack and accessory mounts that add practicality beyond race day.
Up front, the RockShox SID fork delivers 120mm of travel using a lightweight DebonAir air spring and Rush RL damper. A handlebar-mounted remote lockout allows instant switching between efficient climbing and full suspension performance, making it ideal for changing terrain during races and long-distance rides.
Shifting is handled by SRAM's GX Eagle AXS Transmission, delivering precise wireless electronic shifting under load. The direct-mount T-Type rear derailleur is designed for exceptional durability and shifting consistency, while the 34T chainring and 10-52T cassette provide a huge gear range for steep climbs, technical terrain and fast race sections.
SRAM Motive Bronze four-piston hydraulic disc brakes deliver powerful, consistent braking with excellent modulation, giving riders greater confidence when descending steep or technical trails.
The bike rolls on lightweight Bontrager Kovee Elite 30 carbon wheels fitted with Maxxis Rekon Race 29x2.4-inch tubeless-ready tyres. This combination delivers rapid acceleration, excellent rolling efficiency and dependable grip across hardpack, loose corners and technical terrain, while tubeless compatibility allows lower tyre pressures for improved traction and puncture resistance.
A Bontrager Line internally routed dropper post with 150mm of travel makes it easy to lower the saddle for steep descents and technical features, while the Bontrager RSL one-piece OCLV Carbon integrated handlebar and stem reduces weight, increases front-end stiffness and creates a clean, race-ready cockpit.
Combining Trek's advanced OCLV Mountain Carbon frame, innovative IsoBow technology and premium wireless SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission, the Procaliber 9.7 Gen 3 is a modern XC hardtail built to excel in competition while remaining capable and enjoyable on every fast-paced trail ride.

* Mountain bikes are sized differently to road bikes. Typically, they are sized in inches as the first MTBs were produced in the USA. European brands like Lapierre and Haibike like to use centimetres for all their bikes. The measurements of their mountain bikes doesn’t match their road bikes but are like a simple conversion from the inches measurement. This is why we have included cm measurements in brackets for the Mountain bike column.
