The Trek Rail+ 9.8 GX AXS T-Type Gen 5 brings together top-tier tech and trail capability in a carbon-framed e-MTB built for big rides, steep climbs and wild descents. This bike is purpose-built for riders who want a fully wireless drivetrain, advanced suspension, and the assurance of Bosch’s most powerful motor system to support all-day riding.
At its heart is an OCLV Mountain Carbon frame, engineered with Trek’s proven ABP suspension layout and geometry tuned for enduro-level performance. It’s equipped with Trek’s Removable Integrated Battery (RIB 2.0) system, housing a massive 800 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery that offers long-range support and easy tool-free removal for transport and charging.
The Bosch Performance Line CX motor produces 85 Nm of torque, making light work of steep, techy climbs while keeping your legs fresh for the descents. Paired with the Bosch smart system, it offers seamless integration with the System Controller and a handlebar remote to toggle through modes on the fly.
The Rail+ 9.8 doesn’t hold back when it comes to suspension. Up front, the FOX Performance Elite Float 38 fork with EVOL air spring and GRIP X damper delivers a stout, responsive feel for charging rough lines. The matching Float X shock in the rear is tuned for aggressive terrain and long descents, giving you control and comfort across changing conditions.
Where the Rail+ 9.8 really turns heads is in the drivetrain. The SRAM GX Eagle AXS T-Type system provides fully wireless shifting, even under load. The setup includes a GX AXS Pod shifter, a robust T-Type rear mech, and the latest 12-speed 10-52T cassette, built for fast, precise changes on the toughest climbs and descents.
The wheels are built tough, with Bontrager Line Comp 30 rims and a mixed-wheel configuration—29" front and 27.5" rear—for a confident blend of rollover and agility. Bontrager Brevard RSL SE tyres offer grip, durability and trail feedback across a wide variety of terrain. A 200 mm Line dropper post gives you that crucial room to move when the trail drops away.
