The Wilier Rapida 105 Di2 is designed as an accessible entry into Wilier's carbon road bike range, combining the brand's performance-focused approach with geometry intended to work well beyond short, fast rides. Its riding position sits between Wilier's pure race and endurance platforms, balancing an efficient road position with comfort for longer days in the saddle.
The NHU MOD monocoque carbon frame uses NACA aerofoil-inspired tube profiles, with aerodynamic shaping also incorporated into the fork and seatpost. The aim is to manage airflow efficiently while maintaining the clean lines that characterise the Rapida's design.
Geometry is a key part of the Rapida's versatility. Rather than adopting the lower, more aggressive position of a dedicated race bike or the more relaxed fit of a traditional endurance model, its stack height sits between the two. This gives riders a position designed to combine responsive handling and efficient pedalling with greater accessibility over longer distances.
Tyre clearance extends to 36mm, opening up the option of fitting wider tyres for extra cushioning and grip on rougher roads. Wilier also positions this clearance as suitable for occasional light gravel use when paired with appropriate tyres, adding versatility beyond smooth tarmac.
Shimano 105 Di2 provides electronic 2x12-speed shifting. Both derailleurs and the shift controls come from the 105 Di2 groupset, providing precise electronic gear changes across 24 available gear combinations. A Shimano 105 12-speed cassette and KMC 12X chain complete the supplied drivetrain specification.
Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes provide braking at both wheels. Hydraulic operation gives consistent, controlled braking and makes the Rapida better equipped for changing road and weather conditions than a traditional rim-brake setup.
The Miche Asfalto 45 wheels are fitted with 28mm Schwalbe Lugano II tyres. The supplied 28mm setup offers a familiar road-bike balance of rolling efficiency and comfort, while the frame's additional clearance gives riders scope to move to wider tyres later.
One of the Rapida's standout details is its full monocoque carbon R-Bar cockpit. Cables are fully internally routed to keep the front of the bike uncluttered and complement the frame's aerodynamic shaping. Cockpit dimensions also vary with frame size, helping maintain appropriate proportions across the range.
The integrated R-Bar measures 370/400mm wide with a 90mm stem on XS and S bikes. Medium uses a 100mm stem, Large a 110mm stem, and XL and XXL a 120mm stem. Large through XXL bikes use the wider 390/420mm bar dimensions.
A Filante SL custom carbon seatpost with 15mm setback continues the clean integration through the rear of the bike and uses an integrated clamp. It's paired with a Prologo Dimension RS saddle.
The frame also includes a removable front derailleur mount, allowing compatibility with both 1x and 2x drivetrain configurations. A UDH derailleur hanger adds further drivetrain flexibility, while the BB86 press-fit bottom bracket provides the interface for the crankset.
Overall, the Wilier Rapida 105 Di2 is aimed at riders who want the feel and clean integration of a modern carbon road bike without committing to an uncompromising race position. Its balanced geometry, electronic Shimano 105 drivetrain and generous tyre clearance make it suitable for fast everyday riding, longer road routes and varied road surfaces.
