Excellent alternative to saddle bag
by Anonymous user on 21/05/2019

Much more practical than saddle bag. Is larger and easier to load and unload and move between bikes

Zefal Tool Bottle
by Anonymous user on 17/01/2019

The small compartment at the top is not very useful so I used the full length and fitted all I needed into it. It does what it says.

Really useful bottle!
by Anonymous user on 20/08/2018

I found this tool bottle to be really useful. I didn't want loads of attachments to my frame so use this bottle to carry my stuff instead. I managed to fit in a spare inner tube, two tyre levers, a multi-tool, and a Topeak Micro Rocket AL Pump which will pump just about enough air into a tyre to get you home. Even after all that there's still a little bit of space left. I bought the Medium bottle and I'm really pleased with it...

It's a plastic beaker but......
by Ian M on 18/10/2017

OK - it may just be a glorified plastic beaker, bear that in mind, but as an alternative to a saddle bag (or your back pockets) this is a good option, if only to reduce the bikes centre of gravity. Being plastic it should offer better waterproofing than the aforementioned saddle bag/pockets but with twin cages you are loosing a bottle of water carrying capacity without going back to the saddle bag but the option's there though now in the 'winter' months that's less of an issue. I fitted into my mid-sized version an inner tube, 2 x tyre leavers, multi-tool, co2 pump, valve adapter, chain link and a couple of rubber gloves with a little room to spare so all the basics are covered and better in there than in your back pockets!? At 'just' £4.99 with free delivery Tredz are the option to go for - I couldn't find cheaper - with prompt delivery, so all good there, thanks.

Zefal tool bottle
by Mark S on 09/09/2016

dual compartment is a bonus. Waterproof, robust. Large enough for tube pump or Co2 and multitool. If using the dual compartment I can even get a gilet in as well. Improvement over most bags in my opinion.

Bottles & Cages Guide

What are bike bottles and cages?

A bottle and cage set-up is a really efficient way of staying hydrated while you’re riding. Simply reach out and your beverage is close at hand. It’s so important to drink plenty of fluid while you’re riding to prevent dehydration, so anything that makes it easier to do that is a must-have.

Who needs a bottle and cage?

Riders who need instant refreshment use bottles and cages. Whether the bottle contains water or an energy drink, it’s close at hand and easily supped from a specifically designed mouthpiece. Remember, even if you’re pootling along at a sedate pace, you’re still exercising, which is always thirsty work.

What are the choices?

Choose the bottle which you’ll find easiest to drink out of and the most simple to use with an accompanying cage. The cage selection ranges from feather light carbon holders to sturdy steel receptacles. Side-loading cages are great for compact frames where space is at a premium. BPA-free construction means you won’t ingest any nasty chemicals.

What should I buy with them?

A bottle brush is brilliant for cleaning, especially with smaller bristles to clean the mouthpiece. If your bike doesn’t have eyelets for a cage, there are adaptors available.

Anything else?

Make sure you regularly clean your bottle – it’s very easy to leave it festering on your bike. A few ice cubes in summer gives you a refreshingly chilled drink.
