Comfort and Control

With its newly refined drop shape, the Service Course SL-80 gives comfortable and efficient positions on the bar tops, brake hoods or down in the drops. The bar allows a neutral wrist position in the drops and a flat brake-hood transition even while riding in a more upright position. This minimizes the need for up-rotated bars. The bar’s drops are also angled outward by 4 degrees to reduce wrist strain.

The result is better ergonomics in the drops or on the hoods. That’s why we’ve evolved our pro-proven lineup of alloy bars based on a steady stream of feedback from fitters and top UCI World Tour riders.

It all comes down to giving riders with options to find the best-fitting bar. The SL-80 is named after its 80mm reach (horizontal distance from the bar’s stem clamp area to center of the brake perch). That brings the hoods and control levers back where you want them, while keeping the drops close and usable – all without requiring a shorter stem. The ergonomic 125mm drop (vertical distance from the bar’s stem clamp area to the bottom of the drops) places the angled drop position where you can easily reach it while maintaining a neutral wrist angle.

All of that works together to give comfort and aerodynamic efficiency for when the hammer is down.

The SL-80’s rounded bar top is clip compatible. Made from ultra strong and lightweight 7050 aluminum. Available in six sizes to meet every rider’s fit needs. Available in High Polish Black with white logos or Beyond Black.

Handlebars Guide

What are handlebars?

The handlebar is your means of steering your bike. It’s also the useful perch for all your accessories, like lights, computer and bar bag.

Who needs handlebars?

Handlebars are an essential component of any bike, unless you’re an unicyclist. You’ll probably choose an upgrade because you fancy trying a different bar width or shape.

What are the choices?

The main choices are drop handlebars for road-type bikes and flat or riser bars for hybrids and mountain bikes. Remember if you want to go for a dramatic change of bar shape, you may need to get new compatible parts, like brake and gear levers or a stem to make the conversion work.

What should I buy with them?

You can complement your new handlebar with a new set of grips or fresh bar tape, for a perfect finished look.

Anything else?

If you’re not sure what width of flat handlebar you’re comfortable with, remember you can always cut it down a little with a hacksaw. Carbon bars may require special equipment to do this though.
