Bike Handlebars

Bike handlebars give you control over your bike’s steering, so it’s important to find the right one for your riding style. The size and shape of a bike handlebar make a big difference to the feel of the bike, so this is an area where an upgrade can make a big difference.

Handlebar materials: handlebars for bikes are usually made from aluminium alloy or carbon fibre composite although the bars on some cheap bikes are made from steel. Alloy bars are lightweight and strong, but carbon handlebars are even lighter and help to absorb vibration and just as strong.

Mountain bike handlebars: these are available in different widths and as well as the amount of rise and back sweep. Downhill, enduro and trail riders tend to prefer wider MTB handlebars as they offer more control when running a short stem. Be sure to match the clamp size of the MTB handlebar to your stem before you buy.

Road bike handlebars: these drop handlebars are also available in different widths and shapes to suit different riders. A handlebar upgrade is one way to change your position on the bike and even shave off a few grams from the weight of your bike. Aero tri bars improve your aerodynamic riding position on the bike.
