At Tredz we make it easy to get your bike back into top condition with our free bike check. Simply drop your bike into our Swansea store and one of our Cytech qualified mechanics will give it a check to see if anything needs repairing.
This a free check that you can take advantage of anytime.

We’ve put together a range of bike services for you, so you can pick the one that best suits you. Choose from Bronze, Silver, Gold and E Bike services, and any additional repairs you need.
Free Bike Check
Before any Service or Repair our mechanics will carry out a full safety check of the bike to ensure the bike is safe and you're getting the best value service to suit your bike.
What does a Free Bike Check include?
A visual inspection of your bike's components; Brake Pads, Drivetrain, Gears, Wheels & Tyres, Frame, Forks / Shocks (if applicable).
Bronze Service: £30
For recreational riders to keep brakes
and gears working as they should.
For bikes without hydraulic brakes.
Drivetrain
- Check both mechs for damage
- Chain wear inspection
- Chainring & cassette inspection
- Lubricate chain (free) or replace (chargeable)
- Check gears – adjust as needed
- Check bottom bracket for play, replace if needed (chargeable)
Frame and Wheels
- Check frame & fork for visual damage
- Check hubs, rim braking surface and disc rotors
- Check tyre tread condition and inflate to correct pressure
Brakes
- Inspect brakes for wear and damage
- Inspect condition of brake pads – Clean (free), replace if needed (chargeable)
- Check brake alignment and mounting – adjust if needed
- Check brake performance – adjust cable tension if needed (chargeable)
Silver Service: £60
For regular riders.
Drivetrain removed, fully degreased & adjusted.
For bikes with hydraulic brakes.
Includes everything in a Bronze Service PLUS:
Drivetrain
- Fully degreased and disc brakes serviced
- Pedals inspected for wear and tear, replace if needed (chargeable)
- Crank arms tightened to manufacturer’s torque settings
Frame and Wheels
- Check hubs, rim braking surface and disc rotors
- Check both wheels run true – adjust as needed
- Check stem alignment and security, and ensure all bolts are tightened to manufacturer’s torque settings
- Check headset – adjust as needed, replace if needed (chargeable)
- Check security of handlebar clamp and handlebar mounted controls, ensure all bolts are tightened to manufacturer’s torque settings
Suspension (where fitted)
- Front fork inspection – check for worn seals and oil leakage
- Rear shock inspection – check for worn seals and oil leakage ensure mount points tightened to correct torque settings
M Check Handover
- Fork air pressure correct for rider weight
Gold Service: £100
For cycling enthusiasts.
A full strip down and rebuild and full replacement of brake and gear cables.
Includes everything in a Silver Service PLUS:
Drivetrain
- Replace all gear cables, inners and outers
- Remove bottom bracket – clean, re-grease (if applicable) and refit, replace if needed (chargeable)
- Remove cassette and inspect freehub for wear and damage
Frame and Wheels
- Remove wheel axles – degrease, inspect – clean & re-grease (free), replace if needed (chargeable)
- Remove headset – degrease, inspect – clean & re-grease (free), replace if needed (chargeable)
Brakes
- Remove brakes and inspect pads – clean & re-grease (free), replace if needed (chargeable)
Suspension (where fitted)
- Suspension linkage/pivot and bushes inspection – remove, re-lube and replace as needed (chargeable)
E Bike Service: £70 (Silver) - £110 (Gold)
Electric Bikes - Silver (£70)
Includes everything in a Silver Service PLUS:
- Disconnect, clean, and reseal (with silicone) all connectors
- Clean crank sensor, align magnet and confirm correct operation
- Battery check and test with a full recharge
- Run diagnostic software (where correct cable and software is available) and report to owner
- Install software update if available
- Reset service counter reminder if available
Electric Bikes - Gold (£110)
Includes everything in a Gold Service PLUS:
- Disconnect, clean, and reseal (with silicone) all connectors
- Clean crank sensor, align magnet and confirm correct operation
- Battery check and test with a full recharge
- Run diagnostic software (where correct cable and software is available) and report to owner
- Install software update if available
- Reset service counter reminder if available
