Poor quality

This the second pair I have been refunded with the, first the seam tape came away from the body of the boot in the rain. This left a dangerous trail of tape to wrap round something. My assessment was poor quality.

Easy fitting

This is the third pair of BBB overshoes I have bought. First ones were fine but I wore them out. Second ones were supposed to be the same size but a slightly heavier construction and they were impossible to get on. Sold them on Ebay. This third pair fit fine but don't know how they are classed as heavy duty. They are true to size keep my feet warm and are the easiest pair to get on that I've had. The image shows reflective trim but the only reflective bit is a little piece on the heel, the other trim is black!

Great overshoes for the money!

These are attractive and do their job! Keep my feet warm in -1/-2 for up to an hour and a half - after that start to feel a slight chill (but I am prone to cold feet!!)

Decent overshoes

Bought these to replace a nasty cheap velcro pair that I'd had for ages which weren't up to the job. These are good value for money and a good fit (I use them with Shimano SPD shoes and ordered the same size overshoe as the shoe and they fit well). Have used them during a 50 minute journey in the rain and feet were dry (apart form a bit of sweat but thet's pretty unavoidable). Early days but so far so good.

Sturdy & well made

I have used this for commuting when it felt like minus one degree; my feet was warm and toasty. I should have worn socks but I knew that the sweat from my feel would soon made my feet cold again. No more fear of getting numb feet. I choose two size up and looking at the amount of space I have between my mtb shoes and overshoes, I felt I have made the right decision otherwise it would be difficult to get in and out of the overshoes. Highly recommended as it made winter commuting so much more bearable. Shouls have gotten it earlier.

Brilliant

Brilliant performer. This is my first pair of overshoes and I have to say, I am very impressed. This winter, I was using 'normal cleated' shoes with Sealskinz socks, but still got very cold feet. After an hour plus, it was really quite sore. Bought these in the sale at a great price and they are fantastic. Keep my feet warm in 0'c - 5'c temps for an hour and a half, no problem. Easy to get on and off too. Wish I'd bough them sooner.... Definitely recommended.

Wet feet-"sokan poch"

Had a lovely cycle in the Tywi Valley. Love the colour on the A40 flashing at cars. However feet totally sodden. Didn't even rain that much!

Overshoes Guide

What are overshoes?

Overshoes are stretchy covers that you wear over your cycling shoes to protect your feet from the weather. They have holes in the bottom so your cleats can still engage with your pedals. They are also sometimes called oversocks or even Belgian booties.

Who needs overshoes?

Anyone riding in the wind, rain, or both. They really help keep your feet warm and dry.

What are the choices?

You can get overshoes for mountain biking or road. It’s important to get the right sort, as they are shaped differently to fit over road or mountain shoes and have the cleat holes shaped differently.  Overshoes are available which are windproof, waterproof, extra warm, or have a combination of these traits. Oversocks are usually thinner, lightweight and give some wind chill protection.

What should I buy with it?

If you’re cycling in really cold weather a good pair of cycling socks will really help add an extra layer of insulation.

Anything else?

Pay attention to the protective properties of overshoes – it’s no good having totally waterproof overshoes if you’re cycling in frozen, dry conditions. Likewise, there’s not much point having windproof booties if your feet are sopping wet.
