Product Description

The DMR V12 Magnesium pedals have claimed legendary status for years now, and you can easily see why. With their slim 16mm concave body and great grip from the long pins, your feet are going nowhere on these pedals. The Magnesium body keeps the pedals lightweight, while maintaining their strength, and the Chromoly axles are strong and long lasting. These pedals are perfect from trail riding, to endure and even full on downhill racing.

The DMR V12 pedals are available in a variety of colours to match your bike, another reason they make a great upgrade.

Key Features:

  • V12, the Past, Present and future of at pedal performance.
  • 100mm Long, 95mm Wide (Platform) and 16mm thick
  • Chromoly axles
  • Colours: Black, Silver, Lime, Orange, White, Black/Chrome, Red
  • 350g per pair

LARGER PLATFORM AREA

The new DMR V12 flat pedal offers 10% more surface area than the classic shape. This means better grip and also support for rougher conditions and bigger hits.

LOWER PROFILE

At just 16mm deep, the V12 is as slim as we could go whilst still retaining our legendary concave feel.

LIGHTER WEIGHT

There is a 20% weight saving from the last DMR V12 pedals with the Magnesium version weighing under 350g per pair.

These V12 mtb flat pedals run on fully sealed bearings and a cro-mo axle. All pins on the pedal are replaceable and tuneable for preferred grip.

Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

      Flats

Excellent pedal bought these for new bike knowing that my previous ones albeit alloy performed well. Used three times these are just as good with a low profile and with your sticky shoes are just brilliant.

      DMR V12 magnesium pedal

I've only used them on one ride so far but it's a massive improvement on my standard cage pedals. The grip is amazing never slipped off once in some very muddy conditions. Great pedals and super light.

      Great flat pedal

These pedals are quite light considering their size and build quality. I use them on a flat bar road bike as an alternative to clipless pedals as these are safer for my commute. I was very impressed with how my feet were almost stuck to the pedals thanks to the positioning of the studs, a real solid grip. Highly recommended .

For all-mountain flats look no further

These pedals are slim, light, grippy and run real smooth. I've just bought a second pair for my winter hardtail. I can't fault them for the price. Great service from Tredz as usual.

      Platform Pedals Guide

      Platform Pedals Guide

Platform pedals, often known as flat pedals are the pedal of choice for most cyclists. Away from the standard type seen on leisure and commuter bikes, there is a wide range of more specific mountain bike and BMX pedals.
Flat pedals have a loyal following amongst DH, freeride and trail riders who like the flexibility of not being attached to the pedal. Being able to dab a foot, adjust position and jump off the bike quickly is invaluable.

While power transfer will not be as high as a clipless pedal, modern pedals are incredibly grippy. Adjustable pins mean a rider and dial in the feel for them, a wide platform gives full support across a large surface area, and the solid construction can handle the abuse taken from rock strikes.

      Pins

Pins grip the sole of your shoe to keep your foot in place while still giving you the freedom to take your foot off whenever you like. The pedal body is generally made of reinforced nylon or aluminium for greater durability.

Often they are adjustable in length with a small allen key. Some riders prefer the pins to dig into the shoe for ultimate grip, others prefer to be able to reposition their foot by having the pins less pronounced from the platform.

      DMR Pedals with replaceable pins

These are particularly good for control when you're riding off-road on tricky terrain. The main advantage of flat pedals is you aren't attached to your bike, so can get your foot down with ease.

Pins are replaceable on the higher-end models. Some higher-end pedals have features like grease ports and magnesium or titanium construction to save weight.

      Shape & Size

They come in different shapes and sizes some with a more concave shape to suit rider preference.
Platform pedals come in different sizes that suit diferent sized feet and give different levels of support.
The pedal body itelf can have different profile. A low profile pedal will offer more clearence from ground strikes and give better power transfer, while a high profile pedal will likely be more robust and contail larger bearings and be easier to service.

      • Simple and effective
      • Easy to bail from the bike
      • Specific shoe not essential
      • Limited winter specific flat pedal shoes
      • Feet can be blown off on rough terrain
      • Thicker pedals can strike the ground on rough terrain
Two Crank Brothers pedals differ in shape and size

      Axles

Steel or Titanium can be used for the axle with the latter being much lighter. Mid and High-range pedals run on sealed cartridge bearings with many seals for long-lasting performance.
Mid to high range pedals can be seried by the user, often there is a combination of bearngs and bushings used internally. Brands like Crank Bros, Nukeproof and DMR will sell service kits making it possible to do this at home.

Axle material can make a big impact on pedal weight
