Product Description

With the EC70 Aero, you can simultaneously stay comfortable and reduce drag.

Thanks to the ergonomic profile and a less radically shaped bend, this handlebar provides more comfort during long days in the saddle. And with Easton's proven Composite TaperWall™ and monocoque construction, the EC70 Aero is nice and light at just 235 grams. Also keep in mind that this handlebar features slightly more reach and drop than the EC90 Aero bar. The EC70 Aero is available in the three most common widths: 40, 42 and 44 centimetres wide.

Great handlebars but beware hose routing
by Andrew C on 18/09/2019

I bought these to minimise road buzz as a primary function but the shape and capacity to route my brake and gear change hoses/cables through the bars was also an attraction. However, having just tried with my Ultegra hydraulic brake hoses, even if you disconnect the hose at the lever and middle joint, the end fixings are too wide to go through the holes in the bars. As far as I can see the only way to achieve this would be to put in freshly cut hose and then make up the lever end with the ferrule and screw in fixing afterwards. This was more effort (and expense) than I was willing to put in. If you have cable brakes then it would be fine. Possibly SRAM of Campag hydraulic brakes might be OK too. They still look fine after wrapping with tape, it's just a little frustrating (as was having to bleed the front brake after taking the hose apart to try).

A Touch of class
by Anonymous user on 09/07/2019

I brought these after a bike fit when the fitter advised I got a wider set of bars. Previously, I was getting pains in my hands and arms. I wanted a flat pair after seeing the Trek Madone which I love. These Easton bars really are quite beautiful to look at and the price from Tredz was the cheapest I could find. Having just used them for a maiden ride, I was really impressed with how comfortable they are and how much vibration they absorb. As the cherry on top, I also achieved a personal best on my normal Strava route using these at the first time. Great bars and would highly recommend.

Handlebars Guide

What are handlebars?

The handlebar is your means of steering your bike. It’s also the useful perch for all your accessories, like lights, computer and bar bag.

Who needs handlebars?

Handlebars are an essential component of any bike, unless you’re an unicyclist. You’ll probably choose an upgrade because you fancy trying a different bar width or shape.

What are the choices?

The main choices are drop handlebars for road-type bikes and flat or riser bars for hybrids and mountain bikes. Remember if you want to go for a dramatic change of bar shape, you may need to get new compatible parts, like brake and gear levers or a stem to make the conversion work.

What should I buy with them?

You can complement your new handlebar with a new set of grips or fresh bar tape, for a perfect finished look.

Anything else?

If you’re not sure what width of flat handlebar you’re comfortable with, remember you can always cut it down a little with a hacksaw. Carbon bars may require special equipment to do this though.
