Tough Aluminium Frame
The Merida Dirt 500 features a durable 6061 aluminium frame designed to handle the demands of dirt jumping, pump tracks and freestyle riding.
Its compact dirt jump geometry provides agile handling, making it easier to manoeuvre through tight berms, rollers and jumps.
The frame uses a 135x10mm rear axle standard and a threaded BSA bottom bracket, providing a straightforward and durable setup.
It also features compatibility with a standard gyro system, allowing riders to upgrade their bike for tricks involving handlebar rotation.
Bottle cage mounts add a practical touch, making the Dirt 500 useful for shorter journeys and everyday riding as well as dedicated jump sessions.
Manitou Circus Expert Suspension Fork
The Manitou Circus Expert air suspension fork provides 100mm of travel and is designed specifically for dirt jumping and pump track riding.
Its air spring allows riders to adjust the suspension to suit their weight and riding preferences, while the fork helps absorb impacts from landings and rough surfaces.
A tapered steerer and 20mm thru-axle provide a stiff front-end connection, supporting precise steering and control when riding jumps and berms.
Singlespeed Drivetrain
The Merida Dirt 500 uses a singlespeed drivetrain, keeping the bike straightforward to ride and maintain.
A 32T Merida Expert TR II chainset is paired with a 14T rear cog, providing a simple gearing setup suited to short bursts of acceleration and maintaining momentum through pump tracks.
Without derailleurs or shifters, there are fewer components to damage during falls or hard landings.
The 160mm cranks also provide additional ground clearance compared with longer crank arms, helping reduce the chance of pedal strikes when riding technical features.
Shimano MT200 Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Shimano MT200 two-piston hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power and controlled braking performance.
With hydraulic brakes fitted front and rear, riders can manage their speed when approaching jumps, entering berms or navigating tighter sections of a pump track.
The system offers progressive braking control, making it suitable for riders developing their skills and confidence.
Alexrims MD30 Wheels
The Merida Dirt 500 features 26-inch Alexrims MD30 aluminium rims with a 30mm internal width, providing a strong platform for wider dirt jump tyres.
The 32-spoke construction and Novatec hubs are designed to withstand the demands of regular dirt jumping and pump track riding.
The rims are also tubeless-ready, offering the option of a tubeless setup with compatible tyres and components.
Kenda K-Rad Tyres
Kenda K-Rad 26x2.3-inch tyres feature a low-profile tread pattern designed to roll efficiently on hardpacked dirt and pump track surfaces.
The tread provides grip when cornering through berms while maintaining speed across smoother sections.
Their wide profile also offers additional cushioning when riding over uneven surfaces and landing jumps.
Dirt Jump-Specific Components
The Merida Dirt 500 features a 780mm Merida Comp TR aluminium handlebar, providing leverage and control when manoeuvring the bike through jumps and corners.
A short, zero-rise Merida Comp TR stem contributes to responsive steering, while the Merida Comp DR saddle and seatpost provide a compact setup suited to standing and moving around the bike.
Built for Progression
The Merida Dirt 500 combines a tough aluminium frame, dirt jump-specific suspension and a simple singlespeed drivetrain to create a bike designed for regular sessions at the pump track or dirt jumps.
Whether you're learning to pump through rollers, developing your jumping technique or working on new tricks, it provides a durable, straightforward platform for progressing your riding skills.

Jump Bike Size guide
Jump bikes are designed and intended for Dirt jumps, street and skatepark riding. Not for riding any distance.
They primarily use a 26” wheel with the frame only available in one size, to suit riders taller than 4’5” or 137cm.
Some manufacturers offer a long or short length bike. Riders over 5’10” or 178cm will prefer the longer option.
