Enjoying the benefits of a dropper seat post isn’t just for the elites. The RSP Plummet Remote Dropper Seat Post brings the joys of dropper posts to a more accessible price point.

The RSP features 125mm of drop with infinite adjustability. It is an air-free design with a hydraulic damping. It is cable operated with a handlebar mounted remote. The remote can be attached to either side of the handlebar to cater for every setup preference.

The RSP Plummet is available in both 30.9mm and 31.6mm diameter and has a dual bolt inline saddle clamp, making it easy to get the saddle in the perfect position. The Plummet has external routing, so doesn’t need a frame with internal routing to be used.

    Key Features:

    • 30.9mm/31.6mm x 441mm Dropper seat post
    • 125mm drop with infinite adjustability
    • Air free design
    • Hydraulically damped
    • Cable operated handlebar remote
    • Dual bolt inline saddle clamp

    • Lowering the saddle makes any bike easier to handle through technical sections
    • 720g including cable & remote

      Loving it so far

Fitted it to my Calibre bossnut that I have had for about 10 months and used it for the first time last weekend at Llandegla. It worked faultlessly anf made adjusting between climbs and descents fast and easy. Wish i had bought it months ago as originally planned. Took about half an hour to fit, would have been quicker if I could have found my right angled allen key, bike tool kit allen key was awkward to use on the bossnut cable guides.

      Best value dropper seatpost

I had a cheap mechanical dropper for a couple of years before it fell apart. After a bit of research I decided to go for the rsb. I've tried out various leading brands on friends bikes and they're all good but expensive. The rsp is as good as any I've used and in some cases less than a third of the price and with a decent lever. If you don't have a dropper yet get one of these.

Good dropper post for the price

Even high-end dropper posts are known for being unreliable, this one has been used many times on a couple of rides with no issues. Easy to install on bike with external routing. For the price this is an excellent purchase and will change the way you ride. Only significant issue is the location that the cable exits the post. It exits at the front which is in the way of the front saddle clamp bolt. You will need a ball ended hex key in order to tighten this as you can only access it at an angle. If you currently use a quick release seatpost clamp then you may wish to replace it with one that locks in a different way, such as with an allen bolt.

Buy one quick before they realise its too cheap

I broke my reverb and needed a new post. Funds were a bit short so went for the RSP. The post works great, it needs a bit more push to lower than the reverb, but not too much. The remote is brilliant, very light in action and because of the design it can be fitted in any way you like, above, below, left or right. It also has a short section of armoured cable at the bars to protect it in the crash (you are about to have). The only gripe is the limit of tilt of the seat. I like the nose of my seat quite low, the only way I could get it where I liked it was to file a notch in the lower part of the seat clamp to allow the rear bolt room to move, only about 4-5 mm. If you are thinking of getting a dropper post, stop thinking BUY ONE. you will wonder how you survived without one.

      Good cheap drop post

You get what you pay for with this post. I never expected great build quality with this price so wasn't surprised when the cable casing was a bit loose or that the trigger can be a little temperamental. Having said that, it does what it needs to at a cheaper price than the rest of them. Another issue I have is I'm not the tallest bloke in the world so was hoping that the tube would fit all the way into my frame so I could just use the travel on it but as my frame has a slight bend in it, the post doesn't go all the way in which means if I have the post fully extended then it's too high. That's not a fault with the product by any means but if like me you reached perfection a little sooner than most people then it's something you may want to look into. On the whole though, it seems a good value for money product that works as it needs to.

      Seems solid

Only used once but first impressions are very favourable, only marked down as I cant judge longevity yet

      Good value

I wanted a dropper post but just could not justify the price tag for my first one. I does exactly what I want it to do I only gave it a 3 on build as the seat moves side to side a couple of millimetres even when full tightened up, but this doe not affect how it performs. For the money you can't really go wrong and I would happily pay more now that I have seen the benefits of a dropper!

      Awesome kit

First dropper post. I can now understand what all the fuss is about. If you haven't got one, get one. These RSP posts are well made, easy to install, smooth in action and very good value. I've now bought 2, one for both mine and my son's hardtails. No issues so far - i guess time will tell how reliable they are but so far I'm very impressed.

RSP Dropper Post - really good value for money

I wanted a dropper post for one of my mountain bikes. I read the reviews and purchased one through Tredz. Really easy to fit and really good value for money. That impressed got another. Would recommend for an entry level dropper post.

      Great value for money!

Bought this dropper for my Voodoo Bizango hardtail and is my first dropper so cant compare against other brands. However the fit is great, cable length is perfect for my bike. The post allows extra height too which is great when you're lanky like me (6'4''). Build quality seems awesome for the money, a little play in the remote but cant see it being a problem. Action is smooth and quick, yet very controlled. Overall I'd say exceptional value for money at £80 delivered!
