Dropper Posts

Dropper posts allow you to adjust the height of your saddle while you are riding. This means that you don’t need compromise on your body position when descending or climbing.

Who can benefit from a dropper post? An MTB dropper post is fitted as standard on many trail and enduro bikes as the benefits are greatest when you spend time climbing and descending technical trails. Dropper seatposts are even used by some DH riders on more pedally tracks and XC racers are also beginning to use them on more technical courses. Gravel bikes can also make use of 27.2” dropper posts that are made to fit narrower seat tubes.

What size dropper post do I need? When buying a dropper post you need to make sure that the post will fit in the frame. A 30.9” dropper post will fit frames that use this size. Cable routing is important too, droppers with internal routing will only fit compatible frames. An externally routed seatpost or a wireless dropper post can be fitted to any bike.

Top dropper seatpost brands: RockShox dropper posts were the ones that really took of in the early days but now there are many other brands to choose from like Fox dropper posts as well as those from Crank Brothers, Brand-X and RSP to name a few.
