  • Internal cable routing and hidden rack mounts for a slick look
  • 25c puncture protection tyres for cycling reliability

Specialized Allez Review

The Specialized Allez features an E5 aluminium frame and full carbon fork that is an impressive 500 grams lighter than previous models. The frame tubes feature innovative manipulation that allows incredibly smooth welds while increasing stiffness as well as shaving off the grams. Dropped seat stays also give a little more rear end compliance for a smoother ride while still being very stiff laterally, so all your pedalling power is transferred to the road.

Offering a slightly more upright, endurance style riding position the head tube is slightly taller than previous models which means you get a slightly more upright, endurance style riding position. This makes the Allez ideal for long distance rides and sportives, as well as club rides. Hidden mudguard and rack mounts add utility without compromising the slick lines and opens the Allez up to commuting and even light touring duties. Tyre clearance has also been increased so you can fit up to 28c tyres for a little extra cushioning.

The full carbon monocoque fork features a tapered steerer for increased front end stiffness. This really sets the Allez apart from its competitors as most bikes at this price point only get carbon fork blades with an alloy steerer. With a full carbon fork, you get precise handling characteristics, especially at speed, as well as a smoother ride.

The Shimano Claris 2x8 speed drivetrain features a compact 50/32t chainset and wide range 11-32t cassette so you get a wide range of gears for taking on varied terrain.

Whether you're just getting into road cycling, commuting, or just looking for a new bike, the Allez is the perfect choice. Featuring a lightweight alloy frame, carbon fibre fork, and mounts for racks and fenders, it's as performance-packed as it is versatile.

Highlights:

  • E5 Premium Aluminium frame features fully manipulated tubing with smooth welds that increase stiffness and efficiency, while looking just as good as it performs.
  • Specialized FACT carbon, full monocoque fork designed for high-speed handling.
  • Shimano 2000 Claris STI shifters shift reliably and are ergonomically shaped to fit all hand sizes.

Great bike
by Anonymous user on 03/07/2019

This is an awesome bike for the money. My only criticism is it’s a little weighty at the rear end, but apart from that, I genuinely cannot fault it. It holds its own among lighter faster bikes.

Allez is all the bike you’ll need
by Anonymous user on 01/06/2019

Bought the allez as my daily commute bike with my Tarmac for weekend use. Excellent service from Tredz and bike only needed minor tinkering. It is ides really well and is a bit less focused than the tarmac which is good but still light and responsive. All in all great bike and great service

Great bike
by Anonymous user on 31/05/2019

This bike is great. I bought this as a starter road bike to get use to the feel for road bikes. From riding a mountain bike to work ect. You can feel the difference right away. It's so light and stiff you get up to speed fairly quickly. It climbs well. It's shaved off around 3-4 minutes on my commute to work. Great buy! Only con I would have with this bike is the clunky gear shifting, can be a pain.

Great value bike

Great light road bike. Good customer service on phone. Agreed to fit new tyres and service; however tyres came in the box and gears were not indexed. Needed to take straight to the shop for a service.

Brilliant
by Rhys B on 30/06/2018

This bike is stunning. The black/charcoal looks sleek and smart. My first ride out yesterday was incredible, so smooth and I have never felt so happy on a bike. This really is such a good bike and the price is incredible considering other bikes from the same price bracket offer much less. Would recommend without a doubt.

Bargain!
by Macaulay J on 16/10/2017

I bought this bike as I set out my new found interest in cycling. One early morning in west Cumbria and I was ready to start the day with an early cycle to work. As I woke up dazed and half asleep I mounted the saddle and proceeded with my planned ride. Things took a turn for the worst facing torrential rain and gusts of wind well over 40MPH however the bike proceeded to see my journey through. I battled through the harsh weather with a light bike making it easy to climb the hills and smooth gear changes ensuring that I could build up the speed with little effort. To conclude this bike is amazing value for money with exceptional build quality. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. 100% recommend.
