At the heart of the CF 11 is the Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU)—a fully integrated system that combines a punchy 85Nm motor with a 12-speed electronic gearbox. No derailleur, no cassette, no drama. Just smooth, reliable performance wherever you point it. And by removing the traditional drivetrain hardware from the rear wheel, unsprung weight is significantly reduced—giving your suspension more freedom to work efficiently and improving traction and control over rough terrain.
Manual Shifting: Total Control, Any Time
The Pinion MGU lets you shift manually with precision—whether you're pedalling hard, coasting through corners or even stopped. Gear changes are smooth and instant, with no lag or chain slap. Shifting under load is effortless, and there’s no worry about damaging a derailleur.
Smart.Shift & Auto.Shift: Effortless Ride Focus
Prefer automatic? Smart.Shift includes Start.Select, which picks your ideal gear when you come to a stop, and Pre.Select, which shifts while coasting so you’re ready to pedal again. Auto.Shift takes it further by adjusting gears to match your speed and pedalling cadence, so you can ride smoothly without lifting a finger.
Built to Outlast the Trail
MGU tech is designed to go the distance—10,000 km without major maintenance. E-bikes are traditionally hard on drivetrains, with torque-heavy motors which puts extra strain on chains, cassettes, and derailleurs—a problem this integrated system effectively eliminates. The whole unit is sealed, protecting it from water, grit, and mud. Paired with the Gates belt drive, this setup shrugs off bad weather and trail abuse while delivering smooth, consistent shifting every time.
Custom-Tuned Power Delivery
With Eco, Flow, Flex and Fly modes, the Pinion system adapts its power output to match your terrain and style. Want to conserve juice for an epic? Or unleash full torque on a techy climb? It’s all tweakable through the FIT E-Bike Control app. You can independently adjust assist ratio, maximum torque, and motor response to suit your preferences or the trail ahead—dialling in the feel just how you like it.
