Giant TCR Range Review

The total race bike

The Giant TCR is built upon 27 years of innovation from testing at the biggest bike races in the world. The new TCR is the ultimate all-round road racing machine that is now lighter, stiffer and more aerodynamic than before.

Giant TCR First Look

We visited Giant HQ for the launch of this exciting new road bike. Have a look at our video to see what the new TCR is all about.

Giant TCR frame

Advanced Grade Composite Frame

The TCR range is built up with two different frames. Giant uses two grades of composites; Advanced SL and Advanced. Both use advanced composite technology and feature both professional and high-performance grade carbon which provides a lightweight, stiff and compliant frameset for road cyclists and racers.

Giant TCR Aero

Overdrive Aero

The head tube has gone through a slimming process to enhance aerodynamics in the crucial frontal area. And the fork has a new crown and leg shape that was developed in conjunction with the down tube of the frameset, which also features new tubing shapes for improved air flow. This improved air flow makes this new frameset 12 watts faster than the previous generation.

Giant TCR Integration

Integrated Aerodynamics

With its new D-shaped steerer, matching spacers allow for cables, hoses and wires to be internally routed through the handlebars, stem and frame for a cleaner profile. This keeps cables hidden from the wind and more importantly out of sight, out of mind.

Giant TCR cockpit

Streamlined Cockpit

The TCR now has an updated cockpit which includes internal cabling routing, flattened tops and slightly flared drops which allow for a more streamlined shape and confident control on fast corners and descents. The new Contact SLR AeroLight and Contact SL AeroLight stems used in the TCR range are designed exclusively for the OverDrive Aero system.

Giant TCR Stiffness

Increased Stiffness

The TCR now features an oversized bottom bracket area with a fully integrated 86mm wide design. This vastly improves the bikes stiffness and power transfer. And an oversized downtube and toptube provide lateral and torsional stifness for a responsive and comfortable ride.

Giant TCR Seatpost

Variant Seat Post

The two different frame types in the range feature two different seat post designs. The SL models include a fully integrated design whereas the Pro and Advanced models feature the proprietary seatpost with an internal seat clamp. Symmetric chainstays also provide stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.

Giant TCR brakes

Disc Brake Only

The TCR frame and fork are designed specifically for use with flat-mount disc-brakes. Not only do disc brakes improve the bikes air flow, they also ensure riders will have powerful and consistent braking performance at their fingertips in all weather conditions.

Giant TCR Wheels

Aero Wheels

All models in the range feature CADEX or Giant SLR 0 wheels that have been developed and tested for an optimal performance. Both wheel systems are tubeless ready, and are fitted with either CADEX or Giant 28mm tubeless tyres which provide maximum rolling efficiency and grip, along with a reduced risk of punctures.

Giant TCR Clearance

Additional Tyre Clearance

Not only is the TCR tubeless ready and compatible for tubeless conversion, but the TCR frame now features much more generous clearance allowing for tyres up to 33mm. This ensures a much more adaptable ride, meaning riders can change tyre width depending on road conditions and surfaces.

Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0

Featured Model

Here we feature the Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0, which includes full internal cable routing, SLR 0 carbon wheels, and is equipped with SRAM Force 12-speed drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes. This model shines with a lovely Ocean Twilight colour way allowing you to standout in the peloton.

The Giant TCR is a versatile road racing machine offering cyclists a race-winning, lightweight, aerodynamic and stiff bike for the best road performance possible.
