The new Shimano 105 offers premium mechanical shifting which will ensure a natural ride feeling and cadence. All without having to worry about battery levels on any ride. While delivering a wider range of gearing, this new line-up still delivers slick jumps between gears.
Ergonomic Shifter Design
The new shifters feature a new ergonomic design which improves both grip and comfort to fit a variety of different hand sizes. The reach of the lever has been reduced to improve both shifting and braking performance. Much like the previous 11 speed versions, the shifters feature dual control which ensures smooth gear changes and excellent stopping power.
Hyperglide Rear Derailleur
Brand new to the 105 line-up is the RD-R7100 rear derailleur which has a much lower profile than its 11-Speed predecessor meaning it is ligher in weight. Featuring Shimano’s HYPERGLIDE technology ensures smooth and effortless gear changes, all at speed and under load.
Hassle Free Shifting
The FD-R7100 front derailleur features toggle-link construction which will allow riders additional clearance to use wider tyres. This also means riders can rely on hassle-free shifting, whether going up to the larger chainring or dropping down to the small one.
105 Chainset
With the 105 12-Speed Chainset riders will have all the gears they need to be able to handle every mountain or climb, all while putting the power down on the flat and reduce spinning out on the descents. The 105 chainset have two different chainring options, 50/34T and 52/36T.
Precise Gear Changes
Shimano 105 12-Speed has two cassette offerings. The 11-34T cassette offers the closest gear range whereas the 11-36T cassette offers the lowest available climbing option. Both options offer riders fast and reliable shifting and work alongside both 12-speed and 11-speed road freehub bodies.
Disc Brake Only
This new 12-speed groupset is now disc brake only. The hydraulic disc brake callipers have been updated and features 10% wider pad clearance than previous versions, meaning less brake rub and less noise. Riders can expect powerful stopping power and an easy to maintain braking system.
