This new GRX groupset features a wider range of gearing compared to it’s 11-Speed predecessor and with an extra cog, making it much easier to find the optimal cadence for maintaining speed and control on fast and technical gravel rides. Whether you are a gravel racer or preparing for ultra bike packing trips, there is a GRX 12-Speed set up for you.
Gravel Specific Chainset
The FC-RX820 chainset is available in both 1x12 and 2x12 options, in a variety of different crank length options from 170mm to 175mm. 40T and 42T 1x12 options offer riders reliable shifting when on steep terrain and prevents mud build-up or dropped chains. Gravel-specific 2x12 48/31T chainrings deliver a wider range of gears for powering along the flat and tackling the biggest climbs.
Wide Range Cassette
Available in 4 different ratio’s, the GRX cassette offers riders precise gear jumps enabling more efficient pedalling which saves riders crucial energy to enable them to rider further and faster. Cassettes for 2x12 line-up comes in both 11-34T and 11-36T ratios. Whereas, 1x12 line-up comes in 10-45T and 10-51T.
Stabilizer Rear Derailleur
The 1x12-speed GRX setup includes the RD-RX822-GSG long-cage rear derailleur with integrated SHADOW RD+ chain stabilizer that is optimized for use with the 10-51T cassette. This enables use with larger ratio cassettes and reduces chain slack for reliable shifting. For the 2x12 set up, the RD-RX820 medium cage rear derailleur also integrates the SHADOW RD+ chain stabilizer but is designed for use with 11-36T cassettes.
Front Derailleur
For gravel racers or riders who require more gearing from the 2x12 chainset for faster rolling on the flat and optimal cadence when taking on steeper climbs, the FD-RX820 front derailleur offers precise and easy shifting from one chainring to the other. This front derailleur also offers more clearance for riders who require additional tyre clearance.
Anti-Slip Shifters
Adding 12-Speed shifting without any additional lever bulk, the RX820 series shifters are designed for comfort when riding all-day. With reduced pressure points and an increased surface area, your hands will be less fatigued and you will have better control. The hoods feature anti-slip texturing which brings maximum comfort and control.
Disc Brake Only
The GRX RX820 is a disc brake-only groupset. The GRX disc brake calliper brings enhanced modulation and a quicker initial braking point for fantastic stopping power on tricky terrain. The brake levers also feature anti-slip coating on the surface which ensures more control on technical terrain.
