Overview
Let's take a look at our review of the fantastic value Cube attain. Combining comfort and efficiency with a racing spirit, the Cube Attain is ideal for all sorts of road riding; from long distance adventures and Sportives, to the daily commute and after-work blasts with your buddies.
Cube are well known for their high component specs at affordable price points. The Attain range, reviewed here, offers great value for money and features both carbon fibre and aluminium alloy frames. Both disc and regular calliper brake options are available right across the range, with quality Shimano components and even Mavic wheels on certain models.

There are three different frame options within the Cube Attain range and each one features the same ‘Road Comfort Geometry’ which offers an efficient riding position that is comfortable on long rides. You also get flattened seatstays on each model, which offer a little vertical compliance to take the sting out of rough road surfaces.
The Attain GTC models all feature a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque frame that delivers the smoothest and most efficient ride in the range. The other models in the range get an alloy frame made with 6061 T6 Superlight aluminium that has been double butted to shave off the grams. The disc equipped Attains all get 12mm, X12 thru axles, which help to stiffen the frame for more predictable handling under braking. Each model also features a full carbon fork, with carbon tapered steerer, for a smooth ride with precise steering characteristics.

It is great to find full Shimano groupsets, including chainset and calliper brakes, on the Cube Attain
Offering a refined ride quality, all the bikes in the Cube Attain range feature impressive component specs for the price. Unlike many other brands, that combine components from different groupsets, you get full Shimano groupsets, including rim brakes and chainset, on all the Cube Attains. All models also feature compact chainsets with wide range cassettes, which makes the going a little easier when the road ramps upwards.
Moving up through the range you get Shimano Claris 2x8 speed on the entry level Attain, Sora 2x9 speed on the Pro, Tiagra 2x10 speed on the Race and 105 2x11 speed on the SL. You also get 105 on the Attain GTC and GTC Pro, with the slick shifting Shimano Ultegra 2x11 speed on the range topping GTC SL. The disc versions of each model offer improved stopping power, especially on wet roads.
It is good to see wheels from brand leaders like Mavic and Fulcrum on such affordable bikes. This really helps to set the Cube Attains apart from their competitors. Cube make fantastic wheels, the RA series rims feature on the majority of bikes up to the Attain GTC Pro with it's Mavic Aksium wheelset. The Attain GTC Race and GTC SL get wheels from the popular Italian brand, Fulcrum.
All these wheelsets are lightweight, yet tough enough for even the very roughest roads. The 25mm Continental tyres are ideal for rapid cycling as they offer low rolling resistance with just a little cushioning.

With its relaxed geometry and built in comfort features, the Cube Attain is ideal for riders new to road biking, as well as those who want to stretch their cycling horizons. The Attain offers confident handling characteristics which will encourage you to ride faster. The wide gear range is great for riding the varied terrain you find on sportives, especially if you don’t yet have the legs of a pro road racer.
With performance that belies the price tag, the Cube Attain is a great choice for cyclists who appreciate value, but don’t want to compromise on capability.
